Join Dawn Unity Group as they begin their next Interfaith Discovery Series. Now in it's 18th year, Dawn is a collection of Faith Leaders who come together to promote Interfaith Dialogue and learning. 

 The interpretation of the Genesis story from Jewish, Muslim, Protestant, and Catholic teachings  will be enlightening. As with all scripture there is much to learn beyond the Biblical text since centuries of commentary has added enrichment to the story. Genesis’ creation story is remarkable for being completely distinct from that of neighboring Iron Age cultures, so exploring that difference will be informative. Panelists are Rabbi Mark Diamond, LMU, Professor Amir Hussain, LMU, Rev. Reinhard Krauss, UCLA and Monsignor David Sork, St. John Fisher. 

Rabbi Mark Diamond is on the faculty of Jewish Studies at Loyola Marymount University. In addition to past congregation leadership, he was President of the Los Angeles Board of Rabbis and Executive Director of the Los Angeles office of the American Jewish Committee. 

Rev. Dr. Reinhard Krauss is a lecturer at UCLA’s Center for the Study of Religion, Executive Director of the Academy for Jewish, Christian and Islamic Studies, and is an ordained Presbyterian minister. Born in Germany, he began his theological studies there before receiving his PhD at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.
