What is a CROP walk?
CROP Hunger Walks are community-based walk fundraising events held in cities and towns across the United States.
How does my participation help end hunger?
By walking in a CROP walk, making a donation, or having others sponsor you, you help raise funds to end hunger and poverty in the US and around the world. After a CROP Hunger Walk ends, 25% of the funds raised are returned to the host community to support local hunger fighting efforts. In 2021, the Peninsula Harbor CROP Walk ranked 94 of the top 100 walks nationwide. Last year, the Neighborhood Church was the second highest fundraiser in our district.

Church World Service, a faith-based organization transforming communities around the globe through just and sustainable responses to hunger, poverty, displacement and disaster.
How long have CROP walks been around for?
The Crop Project began in 1947 when farmers were asked to donate food and seed crops to our hungry neighbors in post-World War II Europe and Asia. The first CROP Hunger Walks took place in Bismarck, North Dakota (1969), and York, Pennsylvania (1970). Since then, CROP Hunger Walk events have been held in hundreds of communities, large and small, raising millions of dollars to eradicate hunger and poverty. This year marks the 41st Peninsula Harbor CROP Walk.

There are four different ways to be a part of the walk this year-- they're detailed up above. First, decide which works best for your schedule. If you're choosing option one, contact David Muir for your free tickets. Ask friends and family to make a donation in support as you walk with Christians around the world in this year's CROP walk! If you can't participate in person, you can make a donation by sending a check made payable to The Neighborhood Church with "CROP Walk" in the memo line to the Church office.
