NOTICE OF BUSINESS MEETING
SUNDAY, JANUARY 30, 2022, 10:45 a.m.
(In the Sanctuary, Immediately Following
the Sunday Worship Service)

The Business Meeting of The Neighborhood Church will be held this year on Sunday, January 30th in the sanctuary, immediately following the 10:00 a.m. worship service. 

Agenda 

The agenda for the meeting includes the following items:

(1)         Financial Report by Church Treasurer;
(2)         Presentation and Vote on 2022 Budget as recommended by the Board of Trustees;
(3)         Endowment Committee Report;
(4)         Presentation and Vote on Amendments to By-laws; and
(5)        Ratification of Church Council appointments to ministries.

Adoption of Bylaws Amendments

Proposed amendments to the Bylaws relate to the following:

1.    Senior Minister Evaluation Committee:  Increase Committee membership by adding the Vice Moderator, and incorporate clarifying edits.

2.    Endowment Fund Spending Policy:  Increase authority to annually transfer Endowment funds to the Church operating accounts at the request of the Board of Trustees.  Currently, the authority to transfer funds is limited to an amount equal to 3% of a three-year moving average of the Endowment Fund’s net assets at year end.  The amendment increases that amount to 5%.

Proxy Voting

Voting members unable to attend are entitled to vote by proxy.   

The following provisions apply to proxy voting:

“A voting member may request and submit a proxy form to the Church Office no later than five (5) business days prior to the meeting in case of illness, conflicting travel, or a business obligation.  The proxy shall designate a voting member attending the meeting to cast the absent voting member’s vote.  Proxy votes will be counted only in the event that such a count might affect the outcome.  Under no circumstances may a member request or solicit another member’s proxy vote.”  (Bylaws Art. A proxy card may be obtained by sending an email to officemgr@neighborhoodchurchpve.org or by visiting the Church Office during the hours of 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on January 17, 18 and 19.   In addition, proxy cards will be available in the Narthex after the Sunday worship service on January 16 and 23. 

Completed proxy cards must be received by 5:00 p.m. on January 25, 2022.
