Maundy Thursday Soup Supper and Service of Tenebrae

Did you know— the word Maundy comes from the Latin word mandatum, which means to entrust, or to mandate. From John's account of the Last Supper, we learn that Christ taught his disciples the new commandment "to love one another," and gave new meaning to two of the special foods used at Passover-- bread and wine.Today, Holy Communion is celebrated all over the world as we commune with Jesus and our fellow Christians.

On Thursday, April 18, we will host a Maundy Thursday service at 6:30pm in the Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome to join us and experience this beautiful service. Each guest is asked to bring a soup bowl and spoon and enjoy a simple meal of soup (meat or vegetarian), bread and water following the service. Childcare will be provided if needed— please contact Myra at (310) 541-8485.
