Waiting, waiting, waiting…
2020 has already been an unbearable year of waiting…
And now Advent comes – a season that asks us
to wait even more.
This will be a very different holiday season than we’ve ever experienced before.
No crowds, no parties – or dinner parties
- no big family gatherings, no big Christmas Eve Services.
By waiting just a little differently this year, maybe this holiday season
can be a Holy Season. Perhaps we will catch something deeper
- something more real and proximate
to the true meaning of Christmas.
Could it be the maybe baby – the one God took a chance on?
So tiny, so vulnerable and yet, so encompassing
and amazing we’ve come to know him
as grace…Amazing Grace!
The One who bids us wait is not brooding over the past
- rather drawing us on to the future with hope
and joy and love.
Perchance the gift we’re looking for is sheer surprise…
What if what we seek is what finds us.
What if what we’re hoping for hopes for us.
Could it be the maybe baby came to take a chance on us?
Maybe…just maybe…for love…
